CNC in Epoxy resins (part 3)

In previous publication vignettes on this topic, the focus has been on the strength property enhancement in epoxy resins afforded through the addition of CNC. Kang, Myles, and Harris from the National Research Council of Canada have confirmed the strength property enhancement but have also identified that the epoxy can be made more easily thermally degradable. The advantage to this is that costly structures, such as electronic systems, that have been protected with epoxy coatings can be more easily recycled and disassembled. Competing approaches offered into the market for this purpose are prohibitively expensive.
