Health & Safety Approvals
Because NCC can be added to so many products, we are continuously striving to ensure that our product is safe. As with all new substances manufactured in Canada, NCC is subject to federal New Substances Notification Regulations (NSNR). Under the New Substances program which is administered by the Ministry of the Environment, environmental and human health assessments of new materials are conducted by officials of Environment Canada and Health Canada who evaluate data provided by manufacturers.

As the manufacturer of the new substance NanoCrystalline Cellulose, CelluForce is providing the information that will allow these officials to determine the potential toxicity of NCC. Gathering the required information regarding the potential environmental and health risks of NCC has been an essential component of the development work.
